Mission Statement
To improve the quality of life for low-and moderate income residents and neighborhoods through comprehensive neighborhood planning, effective management and use of federal funds, and the active engagement of residents and community partners in building and sustaining healthy families and neighborhoods.
How We Achieve Our Mission
- Identify resident leaders within CDBG neighborhoods, increase their knowledge and skills, and increase resident involvement in their community
- Serve as liaison for the City of Savannah and community residents to increase communication and coordination
- Involve residents in a coordinated and comprehensive neighborhood planning process which results in neighborhood plans designated to revitalize the neighborhoods
- Maximize grant revenues
- Administer grants in compliance with regulations
- Provide essential human services to those in need, including persons who are homeless
- Create jobs for low and moderate-income residents and fund programs that serve to reduce poverty in city’s disadvantaged neighborhoods
- Improve infrastructure in low and moderate-income neighborhoods
